Recently, my country’s first CAP1400 type pressurized water reactor nuclear power demonstration power plant unit No. 1 safety injection tank water pressure test was successful. The stainless steel composite plate materials used in the manufacture of safety injection boxes are all provided by Taiyuan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., and replace imports. The CAP1400 pressurized water reactor nuclear power unit is a large-scale passive advanced pressurized water reactor nuclear power unit with independent intellectual property rights and greater power in China. It is a significant symbol of my country’s third-generation nuclear power technology independent innovation. There are currently two units in the demonstration power station under construction, with a design life of 60 years. The safety injection box is called the safety water injection tank, which is filled with boron water and pressurized by nitrogen at low temperature, and is connected to the reactor pressure vessel. Under normal conditions, the communication valve between the safety injection tank and the reactor is closed. In the event of an accident, the safety injection box can inject high-flow boron water into the reactor pressure vessel in a short time to quickly cool the reactor core and reduce the risk of accidents.

Due to the corrosiveness of boron water, ordinary stainless steel was generally used as the manufacturing material of safety injection boxes in the past. With the upgrading of nuclear power equipment technology, higher requirements have been put forward for the strength and life of the materials used for safety injection boxes. The stainless steel composite plate that integrates the characteristics of high strength, high corrosion resistance and low cost has become the manufacturing of safety injection boxes. The preferred material, but for a long time, this type of technology was monopolized by foreign countries.
